I remember Bill as a kind and gentle man who I had the pleasure to serve with on so many VOA projects and attended many meetings with him

I spent a good deal of time at Billy’s house and in classes with him in high school. His twin Betty was my best friend. The whole family was wonderful and Billy was a good friend too.

When I first moved to Williamsburg, Dr Sutherland gave me a job working in his optical. I learned a great deal in the five years I was employed by him. Condolences to his family.

I will forever remember Bill for his subtle yet effective sense of humor. I often did not know wether he was serious or making a Joke, it was often the latter. His delivery was so smooth and discreet that you didn't know if it was safe to laugh!

Bill was one of the kindest of men. I am so very thankful that he was part of my family of choice. Coming home to Wiilamsburg meant time with Bill if there wasn't a game on. Priorities. I'd have it no other way. I will always remember his sparkling eyes so full of himself and the smile that lit up a room. I will miss his hugs.

Bill was a very kind and generous man. We shared lots of laughs and events together. He was a brother to me in many ways. He will be missed by many in our community.
