Denny was a great guy and a true American Patriot. Who knew he would also love and care for kittens?! Pat and I enjoyed our many times with Denny and Sheila and hope to continue to be with Sheila after this awful pandemic ends and allows us to be together.

I was so sad to learn of Denny's passing. He was a member of the Carefree Boat Club a few seasons and truly enjoyed an occasional delightful cruise with his crew, affectionately referenced as, "the Gang Plank". Denny also had a genuine concern and interest in my business there at Two Rivers Marina. He would visit me every spring in the pre-season to see how I was, how was my family, and ask, "so, what boats do we have this year?!" I recall him bringing the old Gang Plank brass bell along on nearly every boat outing to further the sentimental value he placed in boating with his dearest of friends. He will be missed. I'm so sorry for your loss. I pray that comfort only the Heavenly Father can grant will cover you as you grieve and even as you share fond memories with friends. God bless.

We will miss Denny greatly. He was a special friend and neighbor who often offered to be helpful. We enjoyed his sense of humor and he could easily make us laugh. Ron especially enjoyed the lengthy, and just fun phone conversations he had with Denny from time to time. We enjoyed many an evening with Sheila and Denny. He enriched our lives in many, many ways. We miss you, our friend.

We are so saddened to lose such a dear old friend. We have so many fond memories of times spent with the McSweeney family. Bill and Denny first met in 1965 in Germany. They later served in the same battalion in Vietnam. We reconnected in Germany in Augsburg. Denny will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege to work with Denny for many years in the Education Dept. at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. I enjoyed his Irish wit, his stories and his contribution to our mission to teach Virginia history to children of all ages.
