Thomas Joseph Kmetz, 58, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, March 16, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of twenty-five years, JoAnne Hunt Kmetz; his son Bradley Hancock; his grandson Blake Hancock; his mother, Doris, and brother Walter Kmetz (Sarah). He was predeceased by his father, Wallace Kmetz.
A devoted father, grandfather and uncle, Thomas will be remembered with joy and affection by his son Bradley Hancock, and nephews James Kmetz and Joseph Kmetz. He adored spending time with and spoiling his grandson Blake.
Although born in Passaic, New Jersey in 1962, Thomas always called Williamsburg his home. He graduated from Walsingham Academy in 1980. After earning his B.S. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Accounting from Christopher Newport University, Thomas worked the majority of his professional career as practice manager for Dr. Paul John McMenamin, MD. He retired from there after 25 years of service in 2018.
His family asks for your thoughts and prayers. A private service will be held at a later date.

I only knew Tom through my visits to Dr. McMenamin's office and he was always helpful. He was a good guy, humorous, and I looked forward to chatting with him. From our chats I know he loved his family and was so happy and proud to have a grandson. My condolences to his family. Peace be with you. Janine

Dear Kmetz family, a name out of your past... I was shocked to read about Thomas' death, far too young to leave this beautiful world. I ran into Thomas years ago when I saw Dr MCMenamin. I recognized him immediately and called him "Walter"! He laughed and corrected me, but we had a good time recalling Walsingham memories. He was delightful to me at each appointment, and I am so terribly sorry we have lost such a good man. Please accept my sincerest condolences.

This is devastating news. Peace and strength to the family. Thomas will always be in my heart. Truly, one of the best friends, more brother than friend, that I ever had. Rest In Peace, but be ready for that hoops, ping pong, or tennis match when we see each other again! Kingspoint Club forever!
