Gifts & Memorial Donations

Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on August 14, 1940, Roger grew up in Linden, NJ.  He graduated from Linden High School in 1958.  While still in High School, he joined the Naval Reserve.  He served from 1957 through 1963.  During that time, Roger was on Active Duty on the aircraft carrier the USS Saratoga CVA-60.  He served as a Cold War sailor and was part of the Submarine support group.

Upon completing his Naval service, Roger attended Seton Hall University, graduating with a BS in Accounting.  After graduation, he worked for Puder and Puder Accounting, auditing municipal accounts.  He then worked as a Finance Officer for the City of Orange, and moved to Rahway, NJ where he became Finance Officer, Treasurer and Tax Collector.  He obtained his certifications from the State as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer, and Certified Tax Collector.  Roger retired from the City of Asbury Park in 1996.

Roger was also an adjunct professor at Rutgers University, teaching Municipal Finance Courses required by the State for certification.

Roger moved from Rahway to Williamsburg in September 2018.  He loved the tranquility of the area he moved to and enjoyed visiting new places in the area.

He loved all things Disney.  Scrooge McDuck was his favorite character.  The family often visited Disney World.  Roger also collected Disney ties and memorabilia.  He loved the Outer Banks as well.  The family took many trips to the Outer Banks, beginning in 1982, when areas of the Banks were still undeveloped.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen Link Pribush, a daughter, Staci and son Andrew, as well as his beloved cairn terrier, Barney.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bucktrout Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at St Olaf Catholic Church on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
