Gifts & Memorial Donations

Robert K. Gooch III, 62, went home to be with the Lord on May 13th, 2018. He was born in Williamsburg, VA and was a lifelong resident of Gloucester.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert K. Gooch II and Ellen Gordon Gooch (DeeDee) and a brother, William S. Gooch (Rock).

Robert greatly enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and he was an excellent carpenter. His greatest passion, though, was cooking and he won numerous county and state fair blue ribbons for his bread and butter pickles. He was known locally for his country hams and barbeque.

He battled Multiple Sclerosis for 22 years, courageously and seldom complained. Because of his generous nature, he was kind and considerate to everyone, especially little old ladies.

Second to his “lovely bride”, Paula, his heart was full of love for his three children, but Samuel, his only grandchild, brought a special joy to his heart.

Robert is survived by his wife, Paula Arnold Gooch, and children; Aimee Gooch Lawrence, Robert (Kent) Gooch IV and wife, Katherin, and Nikki Smith.

The Family will receive visitors at Bucktrout Funeral home, May 17th, 2018 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Burial will be private.

    JW says:
Dear Paula, you have my sincere condolences. May you find comfort in God's sure promise that (1) there will be a resurrection as set forth in the Bible (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29), and (2) that those who are raised up will have the prospect of never again being subject to misery, sickness, or death (Revelation 21:4).
