Maureen Werner, age 69, passed away quietly on April 30, 2019 at VCU Hospital in Richmond, Virginia surrounded by her family. She fought Lupus and its many complications for 30 years and was a breast cancer survivor.
Married for 45 years, Maureen is mourned by her devoted husband, Dennis. She was mother to four children (Christian, Matthew, Caitlan, and Meaghan) each of whom had a deep personal relationship with their mother. Her children describe their Mom as their strength and are grateful that she helped them build a strong foundation for life. She will be remembered as affectionate, wise, supportive, and unconditional in her love.
Maureen is also mourned by her two sisters, Joan Corrigan (Sister Eileen Marie) and Veronica McCaffrey, and is predeceased by her brother, James Corrigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Maureen’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America (www.lupus.org).
