Gifts & Memorial Donations

Jonathan Cody Hall left a void in our lives on November 6, 2018. Jonathan was a man of many talents, and a lover of family and a lover of life.

He had a passion for continued learning and especially for the written word, with degrees in English and Psychology and a minor in Classical Literature from the University of Florida, graduating class of 2002. He held a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing with a minor in poetry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He went on to earn a Masters of Health Science, Physician Assistant degree from South College in Knoxville. He served for seven years at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia, specializing in care for the elderly.

He was a humanist and free-thinker; when not caring for others he could be found reading the great works of literature and psychology, or enjoying film and music, or crafting gourmet culinary dishes. His greatest pride was his four beautiful children.

He leaves behind: wife Rene’, son Cody, daughters Hailey, Ashley, Zoey, brother Joel, sister Chrissie, step-mother Juliann, and beloved father John. He was aged 38.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.

The friends of the family kindly request memorial contributions may be made for the benefit of his four children at www.tmcfunding.com.

I will miss Jonathan. There are no words to describe the sadness I feel in my heart. I can only hope that I will see him again in heaven. We were both part of a great Riverside team. I am a pharmacist and relied on his expert opinion. He cared about his residents which was very apparent to me. On occasion he would ask for my opinion and I would get an email with “hello Pharmacy guru”. I giggled every time I saw that. I thank God for the times I shared with Jonathan. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
