Passed Away: September 10, 2020

Yianni Stratas, beloved son, nephew, cousin, uncle, grandson and fiance passed away peacefully in his sleep into the loving arms of the lord on September 10, 2020. His aura of positivity engulfed anyone in his immediate vicinity. He readily accepted responsibility for his past mistakes and was in the middle of his path to redemption when the lord decided it was his time. He will be missed terribly by his mother Georgia Mageras Salih, his father Theologos Stratas, his brothers Omar Salih and Vangeli Stratas, his honorary sister Cansu Aykut, his grandmother Nickie Mageras, his uncles Bobby Mageras and Mario Mageras, his Uncle Thanos and aunt Debbie Floropoulos and his fiancé Alba Rangel and his niece Georgia Stratas. He will be greatly missed by his first cousins Emmy, Spyro, Nickie and Nicole and many cousins in the Kokolis, Sarantakos, Mexis, Farantos and Stratis families and many friends turned family Thania, Savas, Sengul and Thano.

Yianni is preceded in death by his grandfather Angelo Mageras and step father Hassen Salih.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 15 from 5pm-7pm  at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Newport News, VA. Trisagion service will take place that night at 6pm.  Funeral Service will take place at the church on Wednesday, September 16 at 11am. Burial to immediately follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. Donations may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen or please consider making a donation below to a fund dedicated to Yianni.
