Passed Away: November 22, 2021

Edward Sydney Willner, 68, Esquire, Eagle Scout, believer in Jesus Christ as his savior died on November 22, 2021.

Born May 21, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky. He came into this world with the struggle of Spina Bifida and left this world with the grace and peace of our Lord and Savior.

Beloved husband of Cynthia, father to Charles and Carmen, grandfather to Jonathon, Markcus and Jazmin. Great grandfather of 5.

Ed practiced law for the California Court of Appeal in both Riverside and Sacramento, California before retiring. After retiring, he became a Judge for Solano County. He volunteered for the literacy program by teaching others to read and reading to children in pediatrician offices. Ed also tutored children in both public and private schools.

He was a devoted Missouri Synod Lutheran and member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. In previous congregations, he served on the Board of Elders, was a Bible Study Leader Board of Council and Sunday school teacher.

Preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Eugenia Willner.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; Children, Charles and Carmen; brother, Stephen Willner (Carol); sister, Lisa Willner (John) and numerous nieces, nephews and God children.

Ed’s service will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, Virginia on Thursday, December 9th, 2021. A visitation will begin at 10am with the funeral to follow at 11am. Ed will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery directly following the service.
