Gifts & Memorial Donations

Brigitte Krayer Dietrich, age 85, passed away on December 14, 2018. She died peacefully at her home in Williamsburg, which was her wish. After 56 years of marriage, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Karl Joseph Dietrich.

Brigitte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Over the years, she has enjoyed gardening, sewing, making homemade chocolates, and preparing delicious meals for family gatherings. Her legacy is her family. She found much joy in raising her own children as a foundation to building a large, close-knit, loving family. She has been intimately involved in the lives of all of her grandchildren including the extra special “grandma days” she always loved to plan. During these last difficult years, it has been her great-grandchildren who brought the most smiles to her face.

She is survived by her son James Dietrich and by her daughters and their husbands, Patricia and David Watts, Joan and Timothy Mills and Christine and Allan Pebworth. Her grandchildren Brian, Karen, Susan, Steven, Carolyn, Andrew, Gregory, Abigail and Matthew, blessed her life greatly. If you married one of her grandchildren then you became one “of hers” as well. Catherine, David, Aaron, Christine, Robert, Katherine, Beth and Andrew all have a place in her heart. Her sweetest joys came from her great-grandchildren Penelope, Blake, Solomon and Tristen. Her niece, Andrea Ishigami and her children Shinobu and Keita along with her extended family in the United States and Germany complete the large family she cherished.

Brigitte was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church but in recent years has enjoyed attending Williamsburg Community Chapel with her family. The family is very grateful for the support of the church community and the caring services given by Riverside Hospice and Agape Home Care. Without the devotion of her family and this support system, Brigitte’s wish to stay home would not have been possible. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Williamsburg Faith In Action and Hospice House, so that others can enjoy the blessing of staying in their own home as long as possible, as she did.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Bucktrout of Williamsburg with reception to follow. A private burial will take place at Williamsburg Memorial Park.

    Michelle Morgan says:
Christine, I am so sorry about the passing of your mom. It is so true that she was all about family! I enjoyed hearing about the things you shared about your mom and family. Going to your wedding shower and wedding with your family, and your mom in the midst, showed how close your family is. And the fact that almost every single weekend, some parts of your family would get together for an event like someone’s birthday! Though she will be missed this Christmas, I’m sure. I know you will be happy that she is not in any kind of suffering. (Plus, you can always reminisce about the time she fell into the Christmas box and couldn’t get out, while both of you couldn’t stop laughing! I love you, girl, and I pray for comfort and peace for you and your family.
