Bernice L. Glidden

Passed Away: June 14, 2020

Bernice Little Glidden, age 85, passed away peacefully June 14, 2020 at her home in Williamsburg, Virginia.  She was born on June 10, 1935 in Wolfe County Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Richmond Miles Little and late Gladys Lawson Little.  She graduated from Nicholasville High School in 1952 and Eastern Kentucky University in 1956 with a BA degree in Business Commerce.  Bernice met and married her husband Ron in 1969.  Over the next few decades they traveled frequently in support of Ron’s military career, including three years in Germany where Bernice mentored high school students living away from their parents.  Bernice and Ron also lived in Pennsylvania and various locations in Virginia throughout the years.

Bernice loved Jehovah, her family, friends, animals, and travel, but perhaps most of all, Bernice loved children.  She was gifted with a natural rapport with young people and devoted much of her life to the love, care, and concern of not just her nieces and nephews, but children of extended family and friends. She was beloved by all who knew her and she will be missed by the many whose lives she touched, and left better for it.

Bernice is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years Lt. Col Ronald Glidden [retired]; her brothers Richard “Dick” Little and his wife Mitch from Montgomery, Alabama, Gene Little of Lexington, KY, Seldon Little and his wife Margie of Nicholasville, KY; nieces and nephews from across the US, a loving extended family from Maine, and many wonderful close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the college fund for Aubrielle Ramos at using her Invest529 ,Gift ID RMKHXRO.
