Sandra Moore Bowers, 67, passed away November 24, 2016. Sandra, born in Abingdon VA, moved to Williamsburg as a child where she lived for the rest of her life. She owned and operated Fairytales Daycare more than 15 years as well as Colonial Cab Company from 1984 to 1999. “Grammy” as she was known, loved life and caring for others. Giving of her time along with loving others unconditionally has left a legacy with her family. She was a member of York River Baptist Church. Her parents, E. Bacel and Pauline ‘Musser’ Alderman, brothers, Charles Moore and Eugene Moore preceded her in death. Survivors include, beloved husband of 26 years, Bill Bowers Sr.; children, Tricia Clark (Michael); Wesley Varner (Sara); Bonnie Wallbank (Chris); Roxanne Gabel (Tim); BJ Bowers (Laura), a brother, Jerry Moore, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., November 29, 2016 at York River Baptist Church. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at Bucktrout Funeral Home, Monday, November 28, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Please visit bucktroutfuneralhome.net to share condolences and memories.

    Sandy watched my child for many years, even after I retired if I needed her to keep Lydia for me she was always there. You are in my prayers, at this time only God can give you peace of mind. She is already missed Lydia was very upset when I told her that Miss Sandy went to live with Jesus.
