Langdon Hamilton Richardson, 81, a native of Williamsburg, passed away March 14, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Langdon was a master plumber, who owned Powhatan Plumbing and Heating more than 40 years. His passion was baseball, enjoying time spent teaching young kids the fundamentals of the game in the local youth programs. He also was a former coach to the Williamsburg American Legion Post 39 baseball team. He spent many afternoons watching his sons and grandsons play a sport that he loved. Langdon was the president of the Green Swamp Hunt Club where he enjoyed spending time with his friends, sons, and grandsons. Langdon was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Warburton Richardson; father, John Richardson; brothers, Clarence, Willie, James, John, and Earl. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Janice E. Richardson; sons, Michael (Eileen), Roy (Deborah), and Gary (Debbie); sister, Madeline Hogge; brother, Robert; grandchildren, Brian, Craig, Allyssa, Thomas, Nicole, Madison, and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Langdon. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. March 18th at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Road, Williamsburg, conducted by Dr. Scott Salsman. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Inurnment will be private.
