    Mac Mestayer says:
I am very sad to hear of the passing of Jose. I saw him and Ale only a couple of months ago at an outdoor restaurant and he was in fine spirits. Very typical of the gentleman that he was, he was gently but firmly chiding Ale for her persistence in advising me to get another parrot. Always good-natured, he was a man of strong convictions. I first met Jose in 2008 when he joined our group building particle detectors for experiments at Jefferson Lab. His wide knowledge of materials and manufacturing procedures aided our efforts at a crucial time; just as we were in the prototyping stage. As I got to know Jose and Ale outside of work, I saw what an engaged and compassionate couple they were. My wife, Kathi, and I will miss him very much. Adios, Senor Riso.

Ale, Agustin and Georgina, We are so sorry for your loss. Jose was a true friend and mentor. He changed our lives by sharing his knowledge and experience with a young student assistant. We had so many good times with him because of his enjoyment of life and how he made us feel like family. He was a great example to all of us. He will forever be in our hearts.

    Lew and Carol Maviglia says:
Our sincere condolences on your loss of Jose, I knew Jose only socially and only during the past five years and clearly saw his love of family, life and and his profession. Having great conversations and sharing his knowledge and humor will be a fond memory which I will always treasure. Lew Maviglia
