Gifts & Memorial Donations

Barbara Ann Stoddard, age 79, passed away peacefully April 7, 2017 at Williamsburg Sentara Regional Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be missed by her family.

There was nothing more important to Barbara than spending time with her children and grandchildren—especially at the family’s cottage on Lake Skaneateles, NY. As a strong Italian woman, she made sure no belly went empty. The size of the gathering didn’t matter to Barbara, she always insisted on having a variety of delicious dishes, including traditional Italian pastries… and maybe a dozen donuts just in case. Her grandchildren love that they inherited her sweet tooth.
Barbara will be missed by her church family as well. She was a member of the Saint Olaf Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA and an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. In addition to her family, friends, and faith, Barbara retired in 2002 from a successful career with Johnson and Johnson.

Barbara’s son, Jimmy Stoddard preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 59 wonderful years, Jim Stoddard, 4 children, John and wife Susan, Paul and wife Lisa, Mary Beth Mueller and husband Don, Barbara Jeanne Stanko and husband Joe, 9 grandchildren, Sara Stoddard, Corey Stoddard, Nathan Mueller, Katie Mueller, Bryanna Stanko, Zack Stanko, Sydney Stoddard, Sophie Stoddard, Marah Stanko, and Barbara’s brother Frank DeBernardis and wife Dee.

A funeral mass conducted by the Reverend Thomas E. Mattingly, will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at Saint Olaf Catholic Church, 104 Norge Lane, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Interment will be private. The family has designated memorial contributions to Saint Olaf Catholic Church and the Foundation for Sarcoidosis  (FSR).

Arrangements by Bucktrout Funeral Home and Crematory of Williamsburg.

    Helene and Lon Kriner says:
Barbara was a wonderful neighbor. Although we didn't see her often. she would always take time to stop and chat as she passed our house on her frequent walks. She never failed to inquire about our grandchildren , and we enjoyed hearing stories about her little ones. We will miss her cheerful smile and the wonderful warmth of her friendship.
